I have been in education for 26 years.  In 2016, I was the recipient of the Presidential Award for Teaching Mathematics and Science.  It was an honor to represent the State of Connecticut in Washington, DC.  Strong elementary mathematics instruction is key to students' future success in secondary mathematics/science learning.  All students can be successful in learning mathematics through quality instruction and a deep understanding of cognitively guided instruction.
