Welcome to the Gateway of the Orange School System
Dear Mary L. Tracy Families,
Welcome to Mary L. Tracy School, “The place where the love of learning and the love of children are celebrated every day!” I am eager to meet the smiling faces of our 2018-2019 students and to partner with you in providing an environment where academic and social growth occurs. I look forward to helping children from our district achieve their dreams. As the principal of MLT, I will work tirelessly to create a love of learning and to support your needs. For those of you who do not know me, I would like to tell you a little about myself. In addition, I have included information to help you communicate with the MLT staff.
My personal background has prepared me for this position. I am a life-long resident of the Town of Orange, am a proud product of the Orange Public Schools, and am a mother of three daughters who benefitted from our exemplary school system. Half of my career was spent as a teacher at Mary L. Tracy School. I have a strong connection to this town – and to Mary L. Tracy specifically.
I have had many professional experiences that have prepared me for this amazing job. I have served on numerous district level committees, am the District Coordinator for the 21st Century After-School Program, and am an Adjunct Professor in the Masters of Arts and Teaching program at Quinnipiac University. I am ready to bring all that I have learned to MLT so that we can continue to prepare our students for their future.
The Mary L. Tracy School website www.oess.org and PowerSchool are two places that are key to school-home communication. It is essential that contact information such as phone numbers and email address are up to date. Mary L. Tracy School sends e-blasts and secure email downloads, which are part of PowerSchool, to communicate teacher placement, report cards, and weather delays and closures. Also, The Buzz, which is a weekly newsletter sent to valid emails in PowerSchool, is posted to our website and sent out every Friday afternoon. This newsletter has weekly updates from me and information on PTO happenings to help you stay abreast of upcoming events. On the district website, parents will find the Virtual Backpack where notices can be viewed online and downloaded at your convenience.
I am fortunate to be the principal of the Mary L. Tracy School community. I have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and talented staff, partner with caring and involved parents, and challenge and cheer for our talented children.
Please feel free to stop in to introduce yourself and share your thoughts. I always will be here for you.
Principal, Mary L. Tracy School
