ORANGE BOARD OF EDUCATION

AHERA Compliance: July 2009

In compliance with the provisions of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act AHERA), the Orange Board of Education is required to issue notification to the users of the school district’s facilities with respect to the surveillance and maintenance program of all identified asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM) in all district facilities.

The Orange Board of Education continues to institute an asbestos maintenance and re-inspection program to ensure that the areas where asbestos-containing materials are identified remain in a non-hazardous condition.

The school district maintains an AHERA Management Plan for all school district facilities. This document is on file at the Board of Education Office. If you wish to review this document, you may do so by contacting Mike Gray, Director of Business and Operations, to arrange for an appointment.

The Orange Board of Education is committed to maintain a safe, hazard-free environment school community. We will continue to update the plan for the 2008/2009 school year.
