Strategic Plan
The purpose of strategic planning for Orange Public Schools is to translate our mission and vision into clear, prioritized actions that guide decisions about professional learning, program design, and system improvement. This plan helps the Board of Education and the administration set transparent priorities, align resources to student outcomes, and establish measurable indicators of success. It is intentionally specific, practical, and flexible: every initiative names participants, timelines, and success indicators; pilots are evaluated and refined; and scalable practices are embedded in our curricula, so classroom expectations, assessments, and professional learning stay tightly aligned. Importantly, the plan requires that investments be justified by the outcomes they develop, connecting each budget request to a Portrait of the BOWA Graduate attribute, an Orange Traveler Curricular Unit, and classroom evidence of impact. The plan also codifies compliance with state literacy expectations (Right-to-Read) and uses our Curriculum Folder and Professional Education Evaluation Committee (PDEC) review process to ensure professional learning and instructional materials are research-based. In short, this strategic plan is the operational roadmap for implementing instructional practices and resources, measuring and communicating successes to the community, and making data-informed adjustments so every student thrives. Finally, 2023-2026 goals are contextualized within a framework that provides information regarding the history of precursor goals (2017-2022).
