Orange

The Orange Community

Orange encompasses 17.6 square miles and is located just west of New Haven. There is an abundance of cultural, recreational and shopping opportunities throughout the area which makes Orange a very desirable place in which to live for the about 13,500 residents. The town is minutes from the Long Island Sound and Interstate 95, the major link between metropolitan New York and historic Boston, Massachusetts. A number of colleges and universities are located in close proximity to the town.

The town's early history predates the 1700's and is centered around agriculture. Proper zoning foresight has let Orange develop into an open, well-planned residential and commercial community which retains the New England simplicity of which the residents are proud. Orange is a very desirable town in which to live, as evidenced by the excellent school system and a wide range of community services.
