Policy & Procedures

In this section of the website, you'll find the information you need regarding key issues governing today's school districts.  Our goal is to create a safe, friendly environment for every child and staff member so that teaching and learning can take place unhampered by fear or confusion.

The "Sexual Harassment" brochure and "Regulations for Acceptable Use of Technology" (RAUThave been created in child-friendly language to make these two policy documents easier to discuss with your child.  We recognize that the RAUT carries with it an obligation to ensure our curriculum delves into the merits and pitfalls of social media and electronic communications.  Watch for new programming in this area.  The formal RAUT document is also available on the webpage in two versions: STAFF 2013-2014 RAUT and STUDENT 2013-2014 RAUT.

Our "Bullying" and "Safe Schools" Policies are still written in 'legal-ese,' but we are working on converting these two policies to a child-friendly format, as well.  In general, our motto for addressing bullying will be this: "If it's mean, intervene."  Period.

The Student/Parent Handbook is available online this year; and if you open this document, you'll see the 'Table of Contents' has navigation links to each section along with a return button on each page.  We hope you will find this online handbook a 'greener' and friendlier way to find the policies you might need day-to-day.  If you would like to receive a hard copy of the handbook, please call your child's school.

The "Sexual Harassment" brochure and "Regulations for Acceptable Use of Technology" (RAUT) and the new BYOD Policy have been created in child-friendly language to make these two policy documents easier to discuss with your child.  We recognize that the RAUT and BYOD carries with them an obligation to ensure our curriculum delves into the merits and pitfalls of social media and electronic communications.  Watch for new programming in this area.  The formal RAUT document is also available on the webpage in two versions: STAFF 2014-2015 RAUT and FULL-TEXT STUDENT 2014-2015 RAUT and BYOD.

Our "Bullying" brochure is very informative and available in a child-friendly format that parents can use with their children regardless of their child's role: Victim, Bully, or Observer.  In general, our motto for addressing bullying will be this: "If it's mean, intervene."  Period.
