The Nutmeg Book Award is the "kids' choice" book award created by the CT Library Association and the CT Association of School Librarians to help build excitement for reading. Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 participate at the Intermediate level, while older students participate at the Teen and High School level. Also, new this year, is the Elementary level for students in grades 2-4! Each year a panel of student readers, public librarians and school library media specialists nominate 10-15 books at each level.

To participate, we encourage students to read all of the nominated books. In April, students at The Peck Place School, Race Brook School and Turkey Hill School will vote for their favorite nominated book. Students who miss the voting in their school can also vote at the Case Memorial Library. The book that receives the most votes statewide is declared the winner!
